How To Care For Genuine Leather Bags, Briefcases & Suede Purses.

The main key of preserving real leather bags or briefcases is cherishing and treats all your leather goods with care during usage. Do not overload or manhandle your leather bags. Also to preserve your leather bags briefcases, the user has to avoid abrasion, moisture, rain and dirt when using the handbag, especially for lighter color bags.

Even the best of cowhide on handbags, briefcases, or any small leather goods, with time the leather loses its resiliency and luster. Therefore, user should apply leather care cream to the bags every now and then. But make sure to test the leather care product first on an obscure area on the handbag, to make sure it does not create a stain or oil spot. Do not use any chemicals or cleaning solutions. Please make sure you read all the instructions before applying any leather cream to your leather bag.

For cleaning suede or chamois leather handbags if it gets dirty on the surface, you may gently wipe the dirt off with an eraser. When you are doing the maintenance, remember to brush the grain of the leather evenly following its nature direction using a soft hair brush. However, try it first on a small obscure area to make sure it is workable before applying to the complete handbag. It is very important to avoid water on the suede bags, as it will shrink the leather and distort the shape of the handbag.

If your leather bags or briefcases is not in season, you can clean and store the handbag in the closet. Make sure the closet has low humidity. It is better that you store the handbag in a fabric bag, and stuff the bag with soft paper to keep the shape of the bag. It is best to hang your purses inside the closet, do not pile them up, as it will crush and change the shape of the bag.
